Hardwick Downtown Partnership — Request for Proposals: Logo Design & Brand Kit

What we're looking for

The Hardwick Downtown Partnership is a small nonprofit, and we're looking for a designer to make us a new logo and a simple brand kit. Proposals are due Oct 9th, 2026. We'll choose someone by Oct 13th, 2026 and want the work wrapped up by Nov 13th, 2026.

HDP works to keep downtown Hardwick lively and welcoming: lamp post planters, banners, community get-togethers, and support for our downtown businesses. Right now we are using the Welcome to Hardwick downtown banners as our substitute logo but we want something that is more specific to HDP. We like the aesthetic of the Welcome to Hardwick image and would like to have our new logo be in the same theme. 

We use Canva for almost everything, so the kit needs to work there. We also need regular files for printers, sign makers and our website.

What we need

  • A logo in a few versions: including a full logo, and a simple version for small spaces (social icon, stickers)

  • A color palette, with HEX, RGB and CMYK codes

  • Two fonts, ideally free or already in Canva

  • A one- or two-page cheat sheet on how to use it all

  • A HDP letterhead

  • Files we can use anywhere: vector (AI, EPS or SVG), PNG and JPG, plus editable source files

We'd love to see 2–3 first ideas, then have two rounds of changes on the one we pick. HDP owns the final logo once it's paid for.

Nice to have: a couple of Canva templates, like a social post and an event flyer. Please price these separately.

Timeline

It's a quick turnaround, so please tell us honestly if it works for you.

  • Oct 9th, 2026 - Proposals due

  • Oct 13th, 2026 - We choose a designer

  • Oct 28th, 2026 - First logo ideas

  • Nov 13th, 2026 - Final logo and brand kit delivered

Budget

HDP is a small nonprofit with a limited budget, with that in mind please give us one flat price, plus a separate price for the templates if you'd like to do them.

Nothing fancy. An email or a short PDF is perfect. Please include:

  • A bit about you and where you're based

  • A few examples of logos or branding you've done

  • Your price, and confirmation you can hit our dates

  • One or two past clients we can call

How we'll choose

A few of us on the HDP board will look everything over. We're looking for work we love, a fair price for a small nonprofit, and someone who gets what Hardwick is about. Vermont and Northeast Kingdom designers are especially welcome.
